Focus supports a wide range of video specifications, but we recommend the following settings to ensure your recorded videos are fully compatible and run smoothly in Focus.
| Settings | Recommendations |
| Video Codec | H.264 |
| Resolution | Stick to Full HD (1920×1080) or below. If you shoot higher, scale it down to 1080p while keeping the aspect ratio. |
| Bit Rate | Aim for 12 Mbps or less. Higher bitrates don’t add much quality in Focus, but they will slow things down. |
| Frame Rate | Use whatever you recorded with - Focus won’t change it. |
| GOP Length | Set to 0.5 seconds (this keeps playback smooth). |
| Color Space | YUV 4:2:0 (standard for most cameras). |
| Audio | No need to tweak anything - just use your original audio. |
| Container Format (File Format) | We recommend saving as .mp4, .mov, or .ts. These formats work best with Focus. |
| If you're combining clips | When stitching multiple clips into the same channel, let the highest setting (resolution, bitrate, etc.) from any of those clips guide the whole channel. |
