Adding Annotations
Once you add clips to a presentation, you can add Annotations to help illustrate what is going on in the clip.
- Open the presentation, and choose to show annotations on the left hand pane.
- If you are still not seeing the annotations menu, please use the arrow as shown below.
- Once the toolbar is displayed you can click directly on the desired annotation.
Editing Annotations
- To change the length of the annotation, highlight the annotation that you want to move, drag the beginning or end to the right or left to extend or shorten the annotation.
- To change the colour or text of the annotation, highlight it, and click on the colour box next to the trashcan to change the colour.
- To delete an annotation, highlight it, and click the trashcan.
Annotations Explained
Below is an explanation for each of the options seen on the toolbar starting left to right.
Text |
Adds in a text box. Once it pops up, type your comment into the box. |
Straight arrow |
Adds in a straight arrow. |
Curved arrow |
An arrow with a 3rd point to make it curved.

Ellipse |
A circle that can be reshaped to be an oval.

Spotlight |
Highlights an area of the screen.

Magnifier |
Zooms in on the selected area.
|
Polygon |
Allows you to move each corner to create a highlighted zone. |
Line of Sight |
A triangular view displaying what a player can see. |
Player Icon |
Circle that hovers around a player. |
Player Link |
Inserts multiple player icons and links them with a line. You can add in as many as desired, and move each icon in any direction.

Stopwatch |
Creates a clock on the screen to show the time elapsed from one point to another. |
Player Move/Erase |
Allows you to highlight a player and "cut" the player from their current space, animate where they would like the player to move, then "paste" them to that space.

Freeze Frame |
Allows you to stop the film for a certain amount of time. You can change the duration of the freeze underneath the timeline. This can also be set up with another annotation to show the annotation during the freeze frame. |

Setting a mask allows you to set apart the background from the players and the annotations. You can set it to Off, Auto, and Manual. If you choose manual, you will need to click on the background colour that you want to be separated. In the example below, the green field was chosen. |

Allows you to manually set the perspective of football pitches, by selecting specific points in the video and creating multiple calibration points along the timeline. Once pitch perspective is set - Player Icons, Player Links and Polygons will now respect the pitch layout. |
Automatically track players for single-item annotations such as the player icon and spotlight. To ensure good results with auto-tracking, users must adjust the tracking box to the player they wish to track. Auto-tracking is available for all annotations denoted by a little circle in the top right-hand corner of their icon, for example |
