Combining multiple server sessions is useful when halves or quarters have been recorded as separate Focus server sessions and need to be combined as one single session on Focus client.
The below video illustrates this process:
Alternatively, follow the below steps:
- Open Focus Server > head over to the Sessions tab > locate the individual sessions.
- Select one session at a time > click on the Package... button at the top > export each session to a folder.
Best practice: Have a single folder for moving and exporting all the files. - Open Focus Client > click on Review Sessions > click on the Open Package... button at the bottom > locate the 2nd server session exported and stored on the computer > click Select Folder.
Windows users: Please double click the folder and then click Select Folder option. - Click the Export icon at the top and select Export session XML > then choose a location to export.
- Close Focus Client before the next step.
- Locate the 2nd exported Focus server session stored on the computer > search for the media folder in it > move the media file outside the media folder.
- Open Focus Client > head over to the Home page > click on the Open Package... button at the bottom > locate the 1st server session exported and stored on the computer > click Select Folder.
Windows users: Please double click the folder and then click Select Folder option. - Click on the Channels... icon at the top > select Show Channel Editor.
- Move the timeline head to the end of the 1st video (for example, the end of 1st half or a quarter) > click on the Add clip at current position button at the bottom > locate the 2nd exported Focus Server session > click Open. The 2nd session will be added to the timeline.
- Move the timeline head to the start of the game > add timing tags (for example, head over to the KO, add the first timing tag i.e. first half, then head over to the end of the 1st half and again click on the timing tag icon. Follow the same process to add timing tags for the start of the 2nd half and the full time) > once completed click Close at the bottom.
- Now click on the Tags... button at the top and select Import Tags option > locate the exported session XML file (mentioned in step 4) > click Open.
- Again click on the Tags... button > click Sync Tags > choose the appropriate XML file (for example, 2nd half in this case) > select the appropriate tag (for example, the first tag of the 2nd half) > align it to the 2nd half by choosing 2nd half in the dropdown.
- Click Save and then close the dialogue box. Tags should be synced and the two server sessions should now be a single combined Focus Client session.
