Important Information
- Please ensure you keep your graphics drivers up to date. We've traced a small number of crash reports on Windows machines to older NVIDIA graphics drivers. If you use a dedicated GPU, installing the latest driver is the best way to avoid them.
- Intel Mac support ending. Focus versions released after summer 2027 will require an Apple silicon chip on Mac.
Improvements and Bug Fixes
- On Windows, the Graphics backend setting in Settings → General now offers Direct3D 11 (Beta) options with and without v-sync. We recommend trying these options if you experience performance issues with the default OpenGL option.
- Fixed: Focus could freeze or crash when an external display or projector was disconnected while a Presentation was open.
- Fixed: Crash when moving clips within a Presentation.
- Fixed: Focus freezing for up to a minute when switching between or seeking within streamed clips on a slow or unstable network connection.
- Fixed: Focus could hang on startup while loading tag templates.
- Fixed: Focus freezing when reconnecting to a live Session after losing its connection.
- Fixed: The match clock double-counting elapsed time when the start of a period was received twice, such as after reconnecting to a live Session.
- Fixed: On Mac, every channel in a live Session could freeze at once when a multicast camera feed was losing data.
- Fixed: 60 fps video juddering during playback on 60 Hz displays.
- Fixed: AV1 video, such as footage downloaded from YouTube, playing back as a black screen.
- Fixed: Streamed clips in large Hub Presentations could stop loading after moving through many clips, showing a black screen or a streamed media error.
- Fixed: Exported Presentation packages could leave out some of their media without warning.
- Fixed: Clips moved between Presentation packages could stop playing video in the exported package, with their annotations in the wrong place.
- Fixed: Exporting a Presentation package whose name contained certain characters, such as #, showing a false low disk space warning and then failing.
- Fixed: Exporting Presentation video to a folder that no longer exists failing. Focus now creates the folder.
- Fixed: Clips exported without transcoding not opening in QuickTime, or not importing into some video analysis software.
- Fixed: The Save As dialog for tag exports not filling in the tag name or remembering the last folder used.
- Fixed: The Presentation video export progress bar showing only "1%" instead of the Presentation title and time remaining when Focus was set to German or French.
- Fixed: The message saying Focus will quit once a package has been created appearing again for every later package until Focus was restarted.
- Fixed: Changes to a clip's trim in Hub Presentations not being kept correctly after restarting Focus.
- Fixed: The Presentation row view jumping back to the top when deleting or moving a tag.
- Fixed: Rows in the list and tree views could fall out of line with each other when scrolling.
- Fixed: Sign-in failing with a permission error for users whose account had moved to a different organisation.
- Fixed: Errors loading Hub Sessions when Focus starts up.
- Fixed: A brief network interruption showing an "Error retrieving Hub data" message asking you to contact Catapult Support, even when nothing was wrong.
- Fixed: A renamed Session package could sometimes disappear from the Session list until Focus was restarted.
- Fixed: Double-tapping an angle in tablet mode not opening that angle on its own.
- Fixed: The close button in the channel editor could become disabled.
- Fixed: Diagnostics gathered from Focus not including the Focus Server log file.
- Fixed: Empty log folders not being cleaned up.
Annotation Fixes
- Fixed: Player Move annotations jumping straight to their end position instead of moving there over the set Movement Duration.
- Fixed: Copying and pasting a 2D arrow losing its curve.
- Fixed: Copying and pasting a Line of Sight annotation changing its width.
- Fixed: A 3D rectangle not showing its drag handles when added or selected from the keyframes list.
- Fixed: Undo and redo becoming unavailable, or not working correctly, after editing a Player Link.
- Fixed: The height setting for 3D Player Links not working correctly when the same style option was switched on.
- Fixed: The resize handles on 3D Player Link nodes being difficult to grab.
- Fixed: The sliders in the annotation properties panel being difficult to grab and drag.
- Fixed: Undo and redo not working for values typed into annotation settings such as width, height, angle and font size.
- Fixed: Presets found by searching not being applied to annotations and notes.
