Introduction
If Focus Server and Client are not running on the same machine, connect them on the same network, so they can see each other.
Setting a Password on the Server
- Launch Focus Server, navigate to the Clients tab, and set a password at the top right.
- After typing in the password, choose the Save icon.
- Take note of the Server Name at the top left of the screen.
Connecting a Client to a Server
- Launch Focus Client, and navigate to the Settings gear icon.
- Choose the Server tab.
- Choose the Server name that you want to connect to, enter the password, and choose Connect.
If you cannot change the password, click the Disconnect button, and then try again. - If you don't see any server names displayed under the Discovered servers section:
- Click Advanced, and switch the server to Remote.
- Enter the IP address of the Local machine, i.e. the laptop running Focus server, in the URL section. Note: You can also find the IP address of the local machine on the Focus server application beside Network IPs.
- Finally, enter the password set on the Focus server and click Connect.
- When the server connects, the circle will turn green.
- Click Save.
Connected Machines
- Navigate to Focus Server > Clients tab.
- All of the connected machines will be displayed here.
