Connecting an AJA U-TAP Device to your Focus Computer

Compared to a Blackmagic device, connecting an AJA U-TAP converter box is very simple.

AJA U-TAP is available in 2 different models:

• HDMI model
• SDI model

Both models can be connected to the Focus computer via Plug and Play. AJA U-TAP requires no driver installation and is compatible with Apple MacBooks and Windows machines. For more specifics please see Recommended Hardware and Operating Systems.

1. Connect the AJA U-TAP Converter Box to your camera using SDI or HDMI cable (depending on the converter model) and to Focus computer using the USB 3.0 interface.
2. The AJA U-TAP device will now appear in the Focus Server Application in the Recorders tab.
   
3. Once the AJA U-TAP appears as a recorder and is connected to a suitable camera, a live session can be started.
