Adding a Blackmagic Device
- Open Focus Server and Navigate to the Recorders Tab.
- Plug your Blackmagic Device to Focus computer via Thunderbolt cable and connect your feed via SDI or HDMI.
- Once it is connected, you should see it listed as an internal recorder.
- It should go from Initializing to Ready once a video signal is being sent by your connected source.

Adding an AJA U-TAP Device
- Open Focus Server and Navigate to the Recorders Tab.
- Plug your AJA U-TAP Device to Focus computer via USB 3.0 cable and connect your feed via SDI or HDMI (depending on the converter model). For more details see Connecting an AJA U-TAP Device to your Focus Computer
- Once it is connected, you should see it listed as an internal recorder.
- It should go from Initializing to Ready once a video signal is being sent by your connected source.
Adding a Channel via IP
- Open Focus Server and Navigate to the Recorders Tab.
- Click Edit Channels, Add Channels, and Add Channel.
- Enter a Channel Name, click on URL, and enter the URL.
- If the camera has a username/password, the format for the channel entry should be - streamprotocol://username:password@IPADDRESS:PORT
- If a username/password is not necessary, the format should be - streamprotocol://IPADDRESS:PORT
This information can be found in the user manual for the device that you're trying to bring in. - If the feed is rtmp, the format should be - rtmp://
Adding a Channel Via SDP file
- Open Focus Server and Navigate to the Recorders Tab.
- Click Edit Channels, Add Channels, and Add SDP Files.
- Navigate to the SDP Files in the window that pops up.
