Connecting an AJA U-TAP Device to your Focus Computer

Compared to a Blackmagic device, connecting an AJA U-TAP converter box is very simple.

AJA U-TAP is available in 2 different models:

• HDMI model
• SDI model

Both models can be connected to the Focus computer via Plug and Play. AJA U-TAP requires no driver installation and is compatible with Apple MacBooks and Windows machines. For more specifics please see Recommended Hardware and Operating Systems.

1. Connect the AJA U-TAP Converter Box to your camera using SDI or HDMI cable (depending on the converter model) and to Focus computer using the USB 3.0 interface.
2. Click okay or accept for any popups to allow the camera device.
3. The AJA U-TAP device will now appear in the Focus Server Application in the Recorders tab. (Note - Please try the steps listed here in if Focus server isn't recognizing the AJA U-Tap)
   
   
4. Once the AJA U-TAP appears as a recorder and is connected to a suitable camera, a live session can be started.
