Introduction
You can add Pictures, Text Boxes, and Outputs (calculations) to your tag template for organizational purposes.
Images
Images can be added to a tagging template making it more effective to use.
For example, users may want to add an image of the field/court/pitch and overlay with tags and labels to guide the user to relevant selections.
Using our previous example, the tagged actions (passes) which were described with labels to mark an outcome (successful/unsuccessful) can be further complemented with images (to provide positioning information). Overlaying an image with labels that describe the positioning on the field/court/pitch (e.g. "Defence", "Midfield", "Attack") will allow to describe the positioning of the action that happened, alongside its outcome.
Alternatively, users may choose to add a background or team logo to personalise their tagging template to make it more visually appealing.
Adding an Image
- Once in the Tag Template Designer, choose the Image button at the top.
- Click on the box that pops up in the template, and navigate to the right hand pane.
- Choose Browse, then navigate and find the desired image.
- You can resize the box to get the image to the correct size.
Text Boxes
Text can be added to tagging templates to section off or title groups of tags/labels making it easier for the user to find the selection they want to make.
Adding a Text Box
- Once in the Tag Template Designer, choose the Text button at the top.
- Click on the box that pops up in the template, and navigate to the right hand pane.
- Enter what you want the box to say in the Text field.
- Resize the box to get the text to the correct size.
Outputs
An output is a mathematical calculation that displays how often a single or multiple tags, or labels, were pressed, or the duration of time that the specific tag(s) or label(s) were used.
For example, if you have a Possessions tag, you may want to display how many times it has been pressed, i.e. the number of times the team was in possession of the ball. Or, by switching the return type of the output, you may want to show the duration of time the team was in possession of the ball.
If a tag is also associated with a label (e.g. for players), you may want to include it in the output to see, for example, how many times a Possessions tag associated with a label for a specific player has been pressed.
Adding an Output
- Once in the Tag Template Designer, choose the Output button at the top.
This will open the Output Calculation window. - Click in the main area of the Output Calculation window and start typing the name of the Tag, Label, or Output that you want to count. A set of matching choices, similar to the example below, will pop up.
- Click on the Tag, Label, or Output you have just added to the main area of the window and select whether you want to Return the value as Time or Count.
- Give your output a name.
- Select Timeline Sync option:
-
- When it is set to Full Timeline, it will display the total amount of times that tag was clicked on the whole timeline.
- When it is set to Synced with Playhead, it will show you how many times that tag was hit up to where the playhead is on the timeline.
-
- Select how you would like to display the calculated output:
- Counter - will show the number of times your selected Tag, Label, or Output was hit in the session.
- Bar - will show the number as bars.
- Duration - will show the overall duration of time in which your selected Tag, Label, or Output was hit in the session.
- Counter - will show the number of times your selected Tag, Label, or Output was hit in the session.
- When using Counter or Time you may want to set the number of Decimal places you wish to include.
Editing an Output
- To change the settings of an output, click on it in the tag template, and navigate to the right hand pane.
- Choose the + next to Show Output.
Adding a Calculated Output
When running a calculation, you can add, subtract, multiply, divide, or get a percentage of how many times one item was activated to another.
- Open an Output Calculation window.
- Choose the Tag(s), Label(s), or Output(s) that you want to have calculated together. You can select the type of the calculation as you are adding your Tag(s), Label(s), or Output(s).
- The Timeline Sync and Display options work the same as they do for regular outputs.
